So it is a little depressing to have to start the job search process again. Just today I got sent documents to give out to referees, and I can see that it is a chore for them to fill in the forms and write up about my teaching. At the same time, I know very little about the job and the town. Is it a good place to live? Will we find a cheap place that is good to live in?
Should I apply for everything, remembering that last year I applied to 30+ jobs and had to choose between two. Or should I wait for something ideal in the economics teaching area?
IN other areas, well, it is my last weekend with my wife and baby son before they go off on holiday to South Africa with the in-laws. Not surprisingly, the baby is antsy and is wide awake at this time, 3am. I am very tired.
It seems a double or more whammy, with the baby being difficult and the need to search for jobs. In addition, a lack of money till Tuesday, then there is the amount of classes I need to prepare...
